Experience Truly Permanent Hair Removal

Total Body Electrolysis

What is Electrolysis Permanent Hair Removal?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal.

A probe about the size of the hair is inserted into the follicle and emits an electric current. This destroys the hair root, leading to permanent results.

Since the current doesn’t rely on pigment in order to be effective, electrolysis works on all skin and hair types and colors.

All areas of the body can be treated except for inside the nostrils and ear canals.

Laser Hair Removal vs. Electrolysis

Laser hair removal and electrolysis permanent hair removal are very different in the way they are each performed, who is a good candidate, the side effects, and the final outcome.

Laser hair removal does not actually remove any hair. The laser minimizes the size of the hair. The hair is still there so it can always return due to any normal hormonal change that occurs throughout life. It is not possible to minimize every hair with the laser. The FDA only approves it for “up to 80% hair reduction”. That is the best outcome one can receive. Many laser hair removal businesses offer lifetime treatments as part of their packages because “touch-up treatments” are necessary to keep the hair gone. Additionally, it only works on dark hair against light skin. The laser targets pigment, so if the skin and hair have similar amounts of pigment, the laser will not just target the hair but it will also target the skin. This can cause severe burns and permanent discoloration of the skin. This also means that light hair, including any hair with red in it, will not be treated or the treatment will be very minimal. There is also risk that hair next to the treated area will grow thicker. This is called paradoxical hypertrichosis and is more common than people think.

Electrolysis is different because it actually removes the entire hair. The treatment kills the blood supply that feeds the hair and kills the regenerative cells that help the hair regrow. With the hair completely removed and the blood supply destroyed, it is not possible for that hair to return. Every hair can be removed permanently. Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal that is approved by the FDA to be permanent. Once the hair is gone, it is gone. It is effective on all hair and skin types and colors. Electrolysis is not limited by pigment. There is no risk of increased hair growth on or next to an area treated with electrolysis.
